This 18 minute video is an interesting documentary about the history of "the Amen break", a six second drum break from a 1969 song by The Winstons. This break has been sampled in hundreds or thousands of songs, and influenced culture greatly due to its use or overuse in rap, hip hop, electronica, and modern music compositions.

The end, in particular, is pretty interesting in that it suggests that lack of copyright enforcement has been an extreme cultural benefit.
