Abilene, TX bike to work experiences Thursday, May 14, 2009, 5:58 am

From Reporter News.com, in Abilene, Texas:

Chris Cummings could smell bacon cooking and hear chickens cackling Wednesday morning on his way to work.

That's because he rode to work on his bicycle, and he did that in honor of this week being National Bike-to-Work Week. Cummings, owner of The Paint Center, also challenged his employees to ride a bicycle to work.

"It's not that much effort," he said, and it also saves money, improves your health and benefits the environment.

"We tried it for the first time last year, when gasoline got to $4 a gallon," he explained. "My guys complained about the price. I'm an ol' cyclist, so I told them, 'You guys need to get a bike and ride to work.'"
