Cycle Instead Bikeweek

Cycle Instead Bikeweek is an annual celebration of cycling coordinated by the Department of Transport's Bikewest.
Bikeweek has grown each year, thanks to the efforts made by local governments, community groups, workplaces, cycling organisations and schools across the State.
Bikeweek 2011 will officially open on Sunday, 20 March with the ever popular HBF Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma, which attracted a record 9,000 people in 2010. The calendar includes a number of major events; as well as community rides and breakfasts, cycling skills workshops, slow bike rides, treasure hunts, bicycle swap meets and film screenings.

Cycle Instead Bikeweek - the State’s annual celebration of recreational and commuter cycling is set to celebrate its Silver Anniversary.

Now into the 25th year, Bikeweek 2010 will be 8 days of community cycling activities that showcase the fun aspects of riding a bicycle for every family member, and how it can play a significant part in reducing waistlines, addressing climate change and helping with the household budget.

Once again Cycle Instead sponsorship is available for funding and/or merchandise to assist with the organisation of events and activities during Bikeweek, that encourage families and communities to participate and experience the many benefits that cycling has to offer. All completed applications need to be submitted to Bikewest by Thursday 10 December 2009.
