1. Playing a file from SMB in VLC under Linux

   I found this to fix my problems when trying to play a movie under SMB (Windows Share) with VLC under Linux (Ubuntu, if that matters).

   • Open VLC
   • Go to Tools > Preferences
   • Under the header Show Settings (bottom left), select the All button
   • Select Input / Codecs > Access Modules > SMB on the left
   • Enter credentials

   Has anyone else who has seen the "Under the Dome" novel by Stephen King also seen the 1966 3D movie "The Bubble" (also known as "The Fantastic Invasion of Planet Earth")? The premise, people trapped in a city under a dome and used as an experiment by aliens, seems to have been done before.
